I fell in love with the rivers, woods, and people of my home state as a child. The history and majesty of New River Gorge compares to no other! I hope that by endeavoring to start a hospitality business as a retired teacher, I can share my vision of this special area with people from everywhere!

I imagine my guests as loved ones coming to visit. Their comfort means everything. My story is told through photos of family and friends on the walls and shelves, and personal collections on display. This is part of what makes this property unique. Sweet Retreat is a home first, and I want to nurture that atmosphere. I encourage guests to take a few group shots with the camera near the guest book and become part of my story!

The feature i enjoy most about the house, is that it's filled with light and views of the woods. Sky lights, large windows, and the series of French doors in the rear, will draw you outside.
